Not only is this delicious golden drink filled with anti-inflammatory properties, it is also wonderful for fertility.

The main ingredient in this yummy drink is Turmeric, known in Chinese Medicine as Jiang Huang. This bright yellow tea not only helps protect the lungs, but is full of antioxidants which help protect the body from oxidative stress— meaning less chances of disease and infections. Studies have shown turmeric may also improve brain function, memory, and mood.

Specifically for your lady parts, Turmeric has proven estrogenic activity, it mimics the effects of estrogen which assists in hormone balancing and menstrual regulation. Turmeric also helps to increase blood flow and removes stagnant blood from the uterus and other reproductive organs, allowing it to be used as an herbal alternative to pain killers (making it wonderful for soothing menstrual pain during times of bleeding).

Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric that is responsible for making it a potent remedy for conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, amenorrhea and PMS. Because Curcumin can inhibit the growth of endometrial cells it is wonderful for those suffering from endometriosis as it modulates the secretion of estrogen. Curcumin is also known to inhibit the growth of cells that make up uterine fibroids, which helps to prevent further proliferation.

Research has proven that curcuminoids can prevent both the growth of breast cancer cells and the spread of breast cancer in bones. Turmeric is also proven to inhibit the growth of ovarian cancer cells and is reported to cause cell death of cervical cancer cells by acting against estradiol.

However, because curcumin is not always bio-receptive, it is best to add in a dash of black pepper or a spoonful of any healthy fat (think coconut oil or ghee) in order to ensure proper absorption.

While there are many other ways to incorporate turmeric into your diet, Golden Milk is one of the easiest (and most delicious) drinks you can make to support your fertility.
